Kurdish smugglers on the Turkish-Iranian border have developed techno-legal practices to contest the state’s regimes of anti-smuggling surveillance and prosecution. These practices include the alteration of contrabands’ material content. This alteration allows Kurdish smugglers to produce inconclusive material evidence on specific contrabands’ provenance.
